Abstract: The dynamic compressive properties of reactive material at various strain rates are investigated using the split Hopkinson pressure bars(SHPB). The stress-strain curves at different strain rates are obtained under uniaxial stress loading. The stress histories are explained by the high-speed photographs to obtain the yield stress and critical reaction stress. The experimental results are fitted based on the Johnson-Cook constitutive model, and agree well with the calculated results. Numerical simulations on the dynamic compression properties are also performed using LS-DYNA with the Johnson-Cook model. The simulation results are also in good agreement with the experimental measurements, which show that the obtained model parameters can be used to describe the mechanical behavior of material well.
