Research on Residual Stress of Hydraulic Autofrettaged Barrel in Practice Firing

Abstract: Based on the theory model of residual stress of hydraulic autofrettaged barrel, the magnitude of initial residual stress on inner surface of barrel and it’s distribution were discovered. By using Sachs test theory and method on the boring residual stress, the remaining residual stress of autofrettaged barrel was determined in given rounds of firing experimentally. According to the initial and remaining residual stresses obtained from theoretical analysis and experiment test, the expression describing the residual stress change with the rounds of firing was founded by data fitting.
