Dynamics Modeling and Analysis of Open Chain Drive Transmission for a Ramming Mechanism

Abstract: In order to analyze the kinematic accuracy and dynamic characteristics of open chain drive transmission for a ramming mechanism, the geometrical relationship and contact modes of roller and sprocket as well as the contact between chain links are described in detail, and then the normal contact force model and the plane contact force model are established for different contact modes. An accurate dynamic model of open chain drive transmission mechanism is established. The characteristics of contact between roller and sprocket are analyzed, and the effect of the change in clearance between roller and sprocket on kinematic accuracy and the dynamic characteristics is discussed. The results show that the clearance between roller and sprocket has great influence on the dynamic characteristics of open chain drive transmission mechanism of the ramming mechanism. The clearance between roller and sprocket should be controlled in reason during the engineering. Key
