A finite element model of the aircraft gun and its supporting spring system is established. The recoil force of the gun is defined as a dynamic response in the form of the internal force within the system resulting from implusiye load of firing of the gun. Structural dynamics programme SAP 5 has been used to calculate the lower 5 modals, the superposition of which helps to obtain the time history of recoil force. The 3 usual ways of recoil force measurements, especially the so-called "measuring dynamical recoil force by the statical calibration method,〃 are fully discus-sed in the paper. The theoretical analysis shows that these methods of measuring recoil force are only approximately correct, and errors might occur owing to unnecess ary modal contritmtions。

The adaptive guidance law (AGL) for tactical missiles is developed, using self tuning control technique and taking into account many important dynamic and random effects. Performances of the AGL have been e- valuated through computer simulation. An important conclusion drawn from the simulation shows that the performances of the AGL are significantly better, especially in the aspect of anti-interference, than those obtainable from the optimal stochastic guidance law.

    The Possibility Of introducing new nitro and related groups to 2,2ˊ 4, 4ˊ, 6, 6ˊ, -hexanitrostilbene is studied. 2,2ˊ 4, 4ˊ, 6, 6ˊ -hexa-nitro-3-me- thylaminostilbene ( 1 ) is synthesized through nucleo-philic displacement of 2,2ˊ 4, 4ˊ, 6, 6ˊ-hexanitro-3-chlorostilbene by methylamine, and then nitrated to 2,2ˊ 4, 4ˊ, 6, 6ˊ -hexanitro-3-methylnitroaminostilbene( 2 )as an energetic material.

Experimental results have shown much discrepancy from the mechanism of photolysis as reported in existing literaturec[l],The preliminary photolysis stap in aqueous TNT solution under the action of UY-H2O2 is believe to be as follows: TNT and H202 absorb the UV light (254nm) to form their own preliminary reaction products, then the reaction goes on further. The study also shows that both photooxidation and photore-duction occur in the aqueous TNT solution under the action of UV-H2〇2. It is proposed that the aqueous TNT solution under the action of UV-H2〇2 forms a photochemical isomer in the preliminary step.

The combustion of solid rocket-propellant is successfully investigated by means of high-speed real-time holographic interferometer photography. The high temperature reaction centre above the burning surface of the double base propellants and its variety regulation are found. In the case of catalyzed double base propellant, the number of high temperature reaction centres increases, while the surface temperature is not significantly changed; but the temperature gradient of the gas zone near the burning surface is seen to have increases. This is the reason of increased burning rate. The reason of mesa burning is that a great quantity of carbon particles fly from the burning surface.

This paper describes a laser velocity interferometer which can measure the velocity of high speed objects and get the velocity-time curves directly. Principles of the new laser interferometer and the results of our experiments are presented. The device is used to measure the velocity history of a bullet during its acceleration along the gun barrel. A 2 mW He -Ne laser is used for illuminiating a scotch tape on the tip of the moving specimen giving reasonably good signal-to-noise ratios. The interferometer can measure the motion of diffusely reflecting surface,so it is insensitive to the tilting of specimen surfaces during the experiment. Thus the interferometer is believed to be very useful in high speed measurements.

A method for the computation of the lethal areas of a shrapnel is dealt with. Problems such as the static and dynamic exploding model and the superposition of lethal power are analysed in some detail, and burst points and posture angles of fragmentary submissiles are imitated by using random numbers. The paper will provide a useful tool for investigating tte lethal power of the shrapnels.

In some occasions the binomial expansion algoΦdthms for the calculation of damage probability of anti-aircraft guns may involve serious errors. In this paper the sources that may cause errors are analyzed, and the conditions leading to larger errors are investigated. An algorithm for the calculation of damage probability is proposed.
