A vectorial frictional impact model is developed on the basis of several other models. In this model, some basic relationships are defined as generic functions fixed by experiments or theoretical estima?tions. The hysteresis-like impact model is modified by introducing the velocity factor. Then the impact force model is established. The effect of friction is divided into three parts : sliding, rolling and spinning, taken into consideration separately. Incorporating the impact force and the frictional force, a frictional im?pact model in three-dimensional space is eventually gained in the vectorial form and used for mobile weapon system.

The compliance matrix of advanced-fibre-reinforced composites elastic tripod mount for a ma- chinegun is studied using matrix analysis and considering the characteristics of the mechanical properties of composites. The results provide necessary mechanical parameters for the reasonable dynamic collocation of the machinegun system as a whole. The relations between the compliance data affecting most sensitively on the degree of accuracy of a machinegun and the flexural stiffness of the front and rear shanks are thus deter?mined. An optimal approach in designing the plying for a composites tripod mount is brought forward, based on structural analysis and aimed at controling the weight of the machinegun system.

ceramics are often used as protective materials against impact damage because of their desir-able properties such as low density, high hardness and compressive strength. Ceramic targets are fragment?ed and comminuted locally by the extreme compressive stress wave occurring at the penetrator-target inter?face when a penetrator impacts the ceramic targets at high velocity. As the penetrator proceeds, a commin?uted zone is finally produced near the tip of the penetrator. The paper considers the influence of this region and derives the target strength term Rt in an A-T model based on the spherically symmetric cavity expan?sion theory. The depth of penetration is calculated using the A-T model when long tungsten rods impact targets at 1.5?4.5km/s. Results of this model are compared with experimental data.

Design for logical arming is an important procedure to assure a high safety in electronic safety and arming (ESA) . This paper analyses and compares five different logical arming models. Their difference is apparent. In theory, for the five models of electronic safety and arming (ESA) ,the nighest degree of safety is attained through control with three electronic switches added by two time windows closed simultaneously. A comparison is given with the safety provided by a mechanical or mech-electronic arming adopting two in?dependent environmental signals.

Internal pressure with a liquid-filled projectile is of vital importance in its reliability design. In case it exceeds a safety limit liquid material will leak or the projectile split. For an analysis of the internal pressure for a liquid-filled smoke projectile, an expression for calculating the pressure is derived. Results calculated from it coincides well with those required in the U. S. Army standards. Factors of the internal pressure, liquid compressibility and thermal expansion of solids are considered. There are two features that differ from former cases in calculating the pressure. It is believed that the internal pressure of liquid-filled projectile is a problem to be seriously considered by designers of liquid-filled projectiles or relevant liquid- filled containers. Key words liquid-filled projectile, liquid filled containers.

Three kinds of external flow field of low-drag and long-range projectile at transonic and super?sonic speed are numerically simulated. The mach numbers are 0. 96, I. I ,and 2.5 respectively, the attack angle being 4°. The three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with two-equation K-e turbulence models and implicit finite volume TVD scheme are applied. In order to avoid the zonal method,‘ 0 ’ type grid oi single zone is produced by algebraic arithmetic. The clear flow structures are obtained. The flow fields in me wind side and leeside show apparent unsymmetry. The surface pressure distnoution shows that the configuration of low drag and long-range projectile can improve the aerodynamic characteristics.

Cluster-cluster aggregation (CCA) model based on Monte Carlo method is used to simulate the structure of the cluster particles in a smokescreen, and the extinction coefficients and absorption coefficients of the simulated cluster structures are calculated based on the T matrix method. Average values of the above coefficients are used to simulate the extinction properties of the actual smokescreen. Results from carbon black clusters show that extinction is determined by the structure, radius and number of primitive particles besides the refractive index, and that the extinction properties can be decreased by an aggregation process. For a given primitive particle number, maximum extinction is obtained by the cluster with optimum radius of primitive particles.

The proposed changeable sampling ratio processing technology (CSPT) is an effective tech?nique to detect the ratio of modulation of chirp signal. But the remainder doppler frequency influences its performance seriously. In this paper, the performance of CSPT and the influence of remainder doppler fre?quency are firstly analyzed. I hen a new algorithm is proposed to eliminate the remainder doppler frequency based entirely on the signal reconstruction from its ambiguity function. Then CSPT can achieve the ideal performance. r mally this method is applied to airborne synthetic aperture radar moving target detection and the detection scneme is given. The simulation results prove its effectiveness.

As important factors in X-ray detection, scatter noise and unbalanced distribution of X-ray etc. directly affect image quality. This paper analysed scatter distribution in X-ray images and the contribu?tion of low frequency noise to image deterioration, then deduced the expression of scatter distribution, which provides a theoretical basis for real X-ray detection. Wavelet based multiresolution analysis is used to correct images acquired under the above theoretical basis. The results are satisfactory. The method not only avoias the necessity of making different models under different experiment conditions, but also provides a promising method for real-time X-ray image correction.

Nozzles are very important parts of jet engines. Engines get their forward thrust from the noz?zles by high temperature and high-pressure jets. Nozzle temperature increases rapidly resulting from the high temperature fuel jet through thermal conduction and radio.don. Ceramic barrier coatings are therefore employed to protect the nozzle by plasma spray. It is impossible to measure the inner and outer surface tem?perature of a nozzle continuously. Yet it is very important to predict the temperature distribution along the cross-section of a nozzle by simulation and calculation. In view of the characteristics of a nozzle in high tem?perature engines enduring hot gas,six thermal barrier coatings are designed for the inner surface of nozzle. Physical model of the nozzle with axial symmetry is set up. With FEM method, Marc software and Mentat processing program, the temperature field of the nozzle with different coatings when exposed to fixed tem?perature load is simulated and calculated. The temperature distribution under instantaneous states along the cross-section of throat in the nozzle is analyzed where hot load is the most heavy. Thus it provides a scien?tific method for selecting materials of the substrate and coatings, as well as for optimizing the coatings.

On the basis of studying the property of engine structural strength and the FEM analysis of the strength of engine assembly structure, strength ot key parts of the engine structures is analyzed with re?fined mesh by the sub-model method, and the errors are analyzed with the method of extrapolation. The example shows that the sub-model method can be used to analyze the strength of complex assembly struc?tures of the engine without constraints from normal hardware and software, arriving at satisfactory results. The sub-model method can be used broadly in the strength analysis of the complex assembly structures.

A new type of self driving scheme一jet gas driving for a Gatling gun is put forward. It is a new way to develop the self powered Gatling guns in which jet gas driving is made use of. A jet gas driving simulation model is established. Effects of various structural parameters upon the rotating speed can provide theoretical basis in tne optimization design. The results show that jet gas driving is a new and feasible prin?ciple and scheme.

Distribution of thermal residual stress and its effects on the stress distribution in the matrix ana fiber under tensile and compressive loadings of short fiber reinforced metal matrix composite are studied using the large strain two-dimension axisymmetric elastoplastic finite element method. It is demonstrated that the thermal residual stresses can result in asymmetrical stress distributions under tensile and compres?sive loadings. Thermal residual stresses tend to enhance the stress transfer in compression yet reduce the stress transfer in tension.
