A general method is derived for the dynamic analysis of multi-body systems with clearance by applying the clearance models gained in Part II . Elementary simulations are performed using this method on the dynamic characteristics in the launching phase of mobile missile, which verify the impact model and the clearance model established m Part Ⅰ and Part II . The effects of clearances on the dynamic behavior of missile are also discussed. In addition, the system topological structure changes during the launching phase, thus the method in tins paper provides a solution for this kind of problems.

High reliability and safety are the main criteria for a successful design of man-machine sys?tems (MMS). Operator’s dependence is defined through response(R), as a function of stimulus (S) and organism (U). Based on the identification of operator’s key performance shaping factors, an operator be?haviour shaping model is proposed, incorporating an analysis of the ability of self-adaptation or self-study of the operator, that is able to correct errors from a critical situation. An expression for operator9 s reliability as some parameters is derived from the operator behavior shaping model, and such parameters are obtained from data of accidents or faults in MMS. An application of the reliability model to man-machine systems with vehicle is given as a sample case. The relationship between human reliability and operator’s depen?dence is discussed m detail.

The dynamic contact problem is a new subject in contact mechanics for tires. A new approach that combines Lagrangian multiplier and the penalty function method was put forward in this paper. Based on the combined method, a dynamic contact FEA model of solid tire was set up and analyzed. Consequently the contact-stress field and deformation shape were obtained. The results prove that this method can not only analyze dynamic contact problems of solid tire effectively but are also of value in optimizing structures in selecting materials and predicting the fatigue life for solid tires.

The meaning of quasi-dynamic calibration of copper balls is presented and factors affecting er?rors on working out the table with quasi-dynamic calibration is analyzed. Calibration experiments covering 9802 copper balls have been carried out on the dropper-hammer dynamic pressure calibration device by- changing calibration pressure’s pulse-width. The model of relationship between heights of copper balls pressed versus the maximum pressure,as well as the heights versus pressure and pressure pulse-width were established by means of regression analysis. Based on this relationship model, with the changes in pressure pulse-width ,the variation of errors when referring to calibration table of pressure-measuring copper balls was analyzed. The scope of application of the quasi-dynamic calibration table for copper balls is expounded.

Based on the structural and movement properties of the self-propelled gun, digital simulation of firing on the move of a self-propelled gun is systematically introduced. By analyzing the forces acting on the gun, a complex multi-body system model of the self-propelled gun is extablished by the Kane-Huston method, in which the constraints on the wheels and the effects of the chain are described in detail. The fir?ing forces are calculated by use of interior ballistics theory and analysis of automatic systems and the force caused by the running of the gun and the roughness of the road are also calculated. By applying these forces to the multi-body model, the response of the gun is solved. Then the initial perturbation of the projectiles can be calculated taking into consideration vibration of the muzzles, and finally the firing accuracy is solved and discussed.

Advanced mean value method is an efficient method in reliability analysis under the condition ?i implicit limited state functions. Combined with the finite element method, the reliability of armor pierc?ing fin stabilized discarding sabot projectiles having large slenderness ratio was calculated. Randomness of the bore pressure, the mechanical property of materials, and the tolerances between the sabot and core are all taken into consideration, so that appropriate results are obtained. Furthermore, the suggestions on im?provements in its strength and reliability are proposed.

In order to correctly optimize the shape and the attachments of modern helmets and protective masks, the three dimensional characteristics and curvature information of the soldiers’ head-face must be obtained because the existing one dimensional standards can no longer meet the requirements. Computerized tomography (CT) scan combined with computer graphic treatment is a new field in anthropometry, and is relied upon in measuring headforms in this paper. Due to extreme varieties in the sizes and shapes and dif?ferent alignment orientations of heads, it is not convenient in the design of helmets. Consequently, a new concept standard head” and the sizing algorithm of reference headforms are put forward, and an aluminum model is made. They can help to size helmets and improve the ergonomic aspects in their shape.

For image target trace under complex circumstances with a desired circular pole index and a steady variance of I liter error index, the idea of satisfactory control and estimation can be applied[1]. With the LMI method, the robust satisfactory estimation of a stochastic trace system is turned to an optimization problem subject to a set of LMIs,and an effective method of design is presented to satisfactory estimation of the trace system. Satisfactory trace windows can be designed and an algorithm of satisfactory filter deduced through this method, and then use the algorithm for a track trace test of a missile image. Difference be?tween satisfactory filter and Kalman filter can be visualized by simulation tests and analysis to check the rel?evant results.

By means of a laser oriented servo system with the function of image processing, operational difficulties in the Target COMERO can be greatly reduced when an operator is tracking a dynamic flying target, and the laser echo ratio can be improved. As is different from the classical matrix decomposition ap?proach ,linear marix inequality method is used to solve the problem of design of satisfactory PID controllers in the laser oriented servo system. Beginning with the consistency of constraint indices, the range of the steady output variance, consistent with the constraint of circle-poles, is presented. Then a method is pro?vided to get parameters of PID controller when the constraint indices are consistent. Validity of the method is testified by results of the test in a proving ground.

The automatic design software involves in it some important modules such as mass prediction, choice of propellants, prediction of mass ratio, grain design, external ballistic fitting, internal ballistics, etc. Each module works with each other to complete all tasks in rocket motor design and correc?tion from iteration calculations. Based on the sustainer motors, the parameter design software is pro?grammed. Through the design of the sustainer motor and scheme argument using the software, it is seen that the software frees the designers from complicated work of calculation and enhances the design efficien?cy.

With the help of finite element method, the mechanical parameters in the performance of mul?ti-layered tube were analysed. Stress and strength analysis, as well as the dynamic characteristics were studied. The results reveal that higher ratios of strength and rigidity are achieved in a multi-layered tube. A theoretical basis is provided for engineering applications of multi-layered tubes.

On the basis of numerical simulation model for an improved rocket nozzle, numerical simulation for the speed field and temperature field of the flame and particles of a supersonic air-fuel spraying gun int tube is successfully performed. The rules of change for the speed field and temperature field of flame and particles in supersonic air-fuel spraying during the spraying process are made known. Stuctural parameters in the nozzle and acceleration tube of the gun and effects of particle size in the speed field and temperature field are discussed. The foundation on improving the hearing and acceleration property of spray particles is thus established.
