Increasing a range of projectile with gliding flight is a quite efficient technique. The flight process of gliding extended range projectile was explained. A ballistic model of gliding control segment was established. The pitching gliding flight and rotating gliding flight of the body were used in the gliding control segment. The influence of two kinds of motorial modes of the body on the extended range efficiency of projectiles was analyzed. The result shows that the extended range efficiency of the pitcnmg gliding flight is higher, but the control system is complicated and the rudder requirement is higher in the course of the rolling control; the extended range efficiency of the rotating gliding flight is lower, but the control system is simple and the ruader requirement is lower in the course of the whole control.

The signal waveforms of airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) experimental system with several different resolutions were designed based on the analysis of aperture dispersive effects of phased array antennas, and the corresponding SAR imaging techniques were discussed. In the Doppler beam sharpening (DBS) mode, the migration through range resolution correction (MTRL) and quadratic phase compensation technique were used to improve DBS resolution. In the squint SAR mode, the SAR imaging scheme, including the time domain MTRし,frequency domain range curvature correction and the third phase compensation technique, was used to extend squint SAR azimuth focus depth based on the characters of bigger MTRC and smaller range curvature. The initial flying experimental data were used for system analysis,, and SAR images with high quality could be obtained. I he results verify the rationality of the introduced experimental system design and its imaging scheme.

According to the idea of establishing monostatic target model, the echo model for a moving target model along bistatic baseline was established by the theory of analytic geometry. The moving target model along bistatic baseline is a special situation of general bistatic target’s echo model. The es?tablishment of the model lays an analytical foundation for dividing zero Doppler areas on the bistatic baseline while a model established by Tsao T doesn’t possess a Dove- mentioned feature. Besides the fea-ture, no complex reference system is required for the model in the paper. It provides a new idea for analysing ambiguity function.

A terminal damage simulation model in target coordinates of multi-purpose missile warhead, including kinematics model, hitting target model, and killing target model of killing element was put forward. Using the kinetics theory, the movement of kill element and target in the ground coordinates can be transformed into the relative movement of killing element in the target coordinates. Therefore, whether the target moves or not, the target vulnerability data can be directly used for killing calcula?tion. It provides a precise simulation model of killing some kinds of movable targets, such as helicopter for multi-purpose guided missile, and a powerful analysis tool for demonstration and design of new multi-purpose guided missile.

In order to improve the precision oi initial alignment of strapdown inertial guidance system, extractive alignment method was presented by using genetic algorithm on the basis of rough alignment. The main manipulations of the algorithm were carefully selected for simulation according to the charac?teristics of initial alignment, and the simulation results were compared with the results from Kalman filtering. The comparative results show that the global searching ability of genetic algorithm used for initial missile alignment can greatly speed up the process to make the missile system react quickly to various situations, but the limit ox its local searching ability makes the algorithm less effective in some phases, thus it should be used together with some other algorithms with excellent local searching abili-ty in order to optimize the whole system.

A main challenge is how to design a step-down-stress accelerated life test plan of which the precise results are obtained with low cost. A novel method of optimal designs for step-down-stress ac?celerated life test was proposed by Monte Carlo simulation under the conaition that the closed form of the optimal solution can be difficultly obtained or not exist by the traditional method of analytic opti?mization in a certain case. In order to decrease compute efforts which may be very large in Monte Carlo simulation based optimal designs, a nonparametric surface fitting was incorporated into optimization by using continuity of object function for meeting the application requirements. The illustration demon?strates the applied process and validity of the method.

Phase change material (PCM) with large latent heat can be applied to the preparation of the infrared false targets for realizing all-weather passive infrared decoy, but its low thermal conductivity is a great blockage to simulating infrared signature of thick metal plates. For that reason, a method of simulating the infrared signature of thick steel plates was proposed by the thermal conduction enhanced PCM including the aluminum fins. A physical and mathematic model was set up, and the infrared sig?nature simulation of the thick steel plate was investigated numerically. The effect of the distribution density, thickness of fins and thickness of PCM plate on the simulation efficiency was discussed, and the reasonable construction parameters of PCM plate used to simulate the steel plate with different thickness were obtained.

There is a large target scatterance when a submarine launches anti-submarine acoustic hom?ing torpedoes with incomplete target motion essential or target motion essential which has a Dig error to attack a hostile submarine. In order to increase the target hit probability, the submarine should exe?cute salvo parallel to the course oi the torpedo for attacking the undewater target. Based on the above mentioned salvo method, the mathematic model of obsuring the target scatterance was established and the valid search width-to-the target scatterance projection width ratio was calculated at different tacti?cal situations and the salvo torpedo sums. The calculating results indicate that the salvo with two tor?pedoes can obscure the target scatterance at middle fire distance, and it will at least need four torpedoes in order to obscure the large target scatterance caused by large fire distance and big error of target mo tion essential. As the tactical presupposition is arbitrary, the conclusions possess universal significance for obscuring target scatterance of the torpedo salvo.

On the basis of the classic electromagnetic field theory and London equations, a calculation model was founded for the magnetic torque of a superconducting sphere with high rotating speed in a uniform magnetic field. By taking account of the interaction of the London moment produced by the rotating superconducting sphere with tne applied magnetic neia, calculation method of the magnetic torque was derived from the magnetic induction expressed in terms of spherical harmonic functions and the boundary condition of superconducting sphere. In addition, a calculating example is shown. The theoretical model for toque calculation is valuable for the farther research on the dynamic behavior of superconducting sphere with high rotating speed.

Based on the heat conduction theory of thick wall cylinder, the distribution of temperature field in rocks acted by high energy burners was calculated. The analytic solution of the instantaneous temperature field was deduced by Laplace transform and the introduced unit pulse function into the boundary condition to simulate the instantaneous shock characterisitc of high energy burners, the tem?perature field calculation was completed by the solution. The calculation results show that after the heat shock of high energy burners, the temperature field in rocks is distributed in the thin layer with a distance of several to tens of millimeters from the inner surface of a hole, the distribution of tempera?ture field tends to uniform with time, and the temperature field is affected by the radius of hole, 1.e. at constant outer radius, the smaller the hole radius is, the lower the temperature at the same point is, and the steeper the temperature gradient gets at the same time. The results provide a certain theoretic guidance for the design and application of high energy burners.

In the conceptual design of hypersonic cruise missiles, the evaluation of the missile combat effectiveness is necessary to avoid excessive index in the missile performance requirements. The attack and defense engagement course and the faced threat in the operational mission profile were analysed for the missile. The top layer model of the combat effectiveness evaluation for the missile was established by the ADC method proposed with the weapon system effectiveness industry advisory committee (WSEiAC) in the U.S.,and the model was decomposed and improved reasonably. On the basis of analysing the every combat effectiveness index, the analytical models of the indexes of penetration ca?pability, hit probability and damage probability were established. The combat effectiveness evaluation results were given. The key factors that affect the effectiveness of missiles are discussed. The results show that reduction of the radar cross section (RCS) of the missiles can decrease the probability and the distance found by the radar; and the increase in the missile velocity can decrease both the fire prob?ability and the intercept damage probability of the defense system in the enemy side, consequently, in?creasing the combat effectiveness of the missiles.

The technology of joint target tracking and classification (JTC) is one of the fast emerging research focuses in the field of information fusion. The basic idea of JTC is that the significant im?provements in performance of target tracking and classification can be expected by taking advantage of the two-way exchange of useful information between the tracker and classifier. After the presentation of the principle of JTC,existing JTC technologies were broadly categorized into two classes, that is, point-target-motion-model based JTC and rigid-target-motion-model based JTC,which were compared in detail. A review of the advance in the JTC technology was also given. The main difficulties and the opening problems of the JTC technology were presented.

The mechanism of suppressing the formation of built-up-edge (BUE) of vibration reaming was studied. The vibration reaming experiments of a small caliber gun tube were carried out by the au?to aligning reamer. The influence of vibration reaming on surface roughness of gun tube was analyzed. The continuous cutting process of the conventional reaming was transformed into the pulsed intermit?tent cutting process, so that the continuous helical cmp of the conventional reaming was transformed into the minute acicular cell chip of the vibration reaming. The capability of chip-breaking and chip-re?moving of reaming was improved, tnerefore the formation of built-up edge was suppressed, which avoids the generation of plough ditch and scales of hole surface. The experimental results indicate that the surface roughness Ra of the vibration reaming is enhanced at least 3 levels than that of the conven?tional reaming; and the surface roughness Ry is less than one-fifth of the conventional reaming; The surface quality of gun tube is greatly improved.

When the mechanical drive is changed into the electric transmission, the cooling system of the engine compartment should be altered to meet the new requirement for the increase in equipment such as electric apparatus. In order to predicte and analyze the rationality of cooling system in the vir?tual engine compartment, the numerical simulation of airflow fields in the engine compartment by us?ing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique is necessary. An armored vehicle with electric transmission was taken as the research object. The physical model and mathematical model for the computation of 3D air flow and heat transfer in the engine compartment of an armored vehicle with electric transmission was established. Turbulent flow in the compartment was described by using the standard k-£ two-equation turbulence model. The temperature and velocity fields of 31J air flow in the engine compartment were numerically simulated and analyzed based on different fan’s flux. A theoret?ical basis for determination of the fan’s flux was given by the simulation results. The positions of the air-vent shutter were analyzed. The simulation results show that the different positions of the air-vent shutter can lead to different cooling efficiencies.
