Abstract:

Based on Pei Chi Chou method，the formula for calculating the breakup position and the breakup time from the flash radiograph of broken jets is obtained .Breakup calculation for the experimental shaped charge is presented and discussed. The analytic solution for calculating the penetration of broken jets is suggested. This solution is based on non-steady hydrodynamic theory, in which the effect of material yield strength is considered and the breakup time of jets is not a constant. The predicted penetration VS. time compares well with the experimental results for the experimental shaped charge.
