Abstract: According to the theory of grey systems, the patterns of alternative schemes are formed with the tactical and technical performance indices which reflect the effectiveness best. Thereby, a standard pattern of these patterns is obtained by these patterns. The good or bad effectiveness of weapon sys?tems evaluated can be distinguished by solving the aoproacmng degree of patterns for their standard ones and making the queue of approaching degrees in the light of their values. It is found from the evaluation of three rifles that the method gives the same conclusion as that from conventional method and the actual situation of using the weapons in battlefield. Therefore, the method is proved to be valid.
