On the basis of measuring the pressure distribution beneath the high speed tracked vehicles under the static conditions, we showed that the D. Rowlandˊs empiric formula of the mean maximum pressure is proper and that the mean maximum pressure(MMP) with terrain (soil) characteristics (stiffness and moisture) is closely relative. At the same time,by means of terrain vehicle systemˊs analytical method we proved that the mean maximum pressure (MMP) with the major design parameter of vehicle and terrain (soil) characteristics(stiffness and moisture) is closely relative. Therefore, we considered that MMP will be a better trafficable index of high speed tracked vehicle.

It is known that a necessary step for solving statically indeterminate structure is to complement deformation compatibility equations。In this paper, two methods for realizing this step are introduced. They are more common, simplier and more formulastic than other methods.

Beginning with the general mechanical ideas, this paper deals with the effect of rocket motion caused by periodic disturbing factors and summarizes all the periodic disturbing factors into two kinds of functions f1(t) and f2(t), thus getting the two equivalent initial disturbances: the equivalent initial deflection and the equivalent mallaunching. This paper gives these two common formulas of the equivalent initial disturbances. One is the transformation coefficient Ke times f1(t0); the other is Ke times f2(t0). Here Ke is not only suitable to all kinds of spin rockets but also its expression is very simple. This expression form is very convenient for analyzing and calculating dispersion .

Owing to the emerging of microcomputer and the application of line scan camera. it is possible for us to link up these two modern instruments and to apply them to measure the burn rate and combustion process of solid propellants. This is a new rapid photo-electric method. In this paper, the instantaneous optical image of combustion process of A and B two propellants is transformed to numerical signals by CCD line scan camera. Then the signals enter a PS-80 microcomputer and stored in its memories。 We can obtain the figure of pellet length versus time by plotter, the average burn rate and pressure exponent, and various tables of data by printer. All data can be stored in tapes.

This paper describes the parameter identification in frequency domain, the parameter identification in time domain and the technique of model synfhesis. All these methods, although being perfected continuously, are useful to the development of weapons. We hope weapon designers will be interested in these methods.

The dynamic mechanical properties of the composite modified doublebase (CMDB),double-base (DB) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite propellants were measured respectively with a Rheovibron viscoelasto- meter. The effects of three kinds of solid fillersCaluminium ( A1 ),ammonium perchlorate (AP) and cyclotetraethylenetetranitramine (HMX)] and the different kinds and contents of plasticizers [triacetin(TA), ortho-di- butyl phthalate(DBP)and nitroglycerine(NG)〕on the dynamic mechanical properties of the double-base binder were studied. The dynamic mechanical data and spectrums on these ingredients haye been obtained at a fixed frequency (3Hz)and a broad range of temperature。 At the same time, the impact strengths of the CMDB propellant, the double-base binder and the pvc propellant were also measured at a broad range of temperature, Experimental conclusions have been obtained that the dynamical mechanical properties of the CMDB propellant lie between the DB and PYC composite propellants and depend on its binder system, and that the CMDB propellant has the specific properties of both higher mechanical damping and a strong P relaxation at low temperature.

Development of deformation and rupture for a cylinder shell under high-pressure explosion loading is very important in. dealing with the direct accelerating and kill effect of the shell. The paper assumes the shell material as rigid and perfect plastic. The stress field, deformation speed, breaking radius and fragment velocity are approached. Comparison with experimental data has been made for 50 kinds of copper shell and 11 kinds of steel shell filled with various explosives. All the results are in good agreement with the data. The relative deviations are 3% or so. The new model is suitable for engineering calculations.
