This paper gives a discussion on the type-1 and type-2 geometrical contradictions for planetary-gearboxes and a definition of the group of model graphs. The proof of a necessary and sufficient condition for the scheme to be constructed has been given. The theoretical problem of viability testing has been solved thoroughly and the viability testing implemented through a computer. In order to illustrate the use of the theorem, an exhaustive analysis of the viability of the schemes involving 3—epicyclics, 2—clutches,2-brakes is given.

Based on "The application of the theory of equilibrium of interior ballistic potentialn, published in 1984, this paper illustrates a method for the determination of a boundary layer between the so-called gun-process and rocket-process occuring simultaneously in recoilless guns. As a re- suit,it provides an interior ballistic solving method for recoilless guns with the elimination of the rocket-process. The simplicity and accuracy shown in some actual examples denote that this new interior ballistic system on the basis of"The theory of equilibrium of interior ballistic potentialn may also be applied to guns of the gas-ejective type.

This paper treats the flow in guns charged with gun propellants as well as combustible cartridge case as a one-dimensional three-phase flow. The balance equations are derived according to a macroscope control volume formulation. By assuming the gas mixture to be homogeneous, a corresponding mathematical model is developed. A function transformation for the set of equations helps us to determine the characteristic relations of the balance equations. An inverse marching characteristic metho d is used to solve the model, which has some advantages over the finite diffirence method. The comparisons between the computations and the experimental data show that the model is available for interior ballistic modeling applied to the systems of gun propellants and combustible cartridge case.

The main factors causing unstability in the automanual-propelled antiaircraft weapon system, that is,factors disturbing the independence of the tracking sight line are studied. The influences on the system stability caused by the smooth parameter of the fire-control-computer, the human factor or the technical ability of the follower operator and the initial state of the system are also analysed.

In this paper, general momentum equation which can describe multi- rigid bodies system is derived with the aid of known dynamic equations of multi-rigid bodies having one and two degrees of freedom. The Heaviside unit step function and its logical groupings are introduced, which fully describe capturing mass and escaping mass in mechanisms with intermittent motion, and a clear formula giving equations of motion for the automatic machanism is obtained. At the same time, the paper refers to computing aim of logical function.

The project of waste water treatment using activated carbon as an absorbent is a pressing task at present. Recently, more and more attention has been paid to the surface phenomena of activated carbon, which cause serious influence on the adsorption process and its regeneration. As examples,2,4,6-trinitrotoluence and 2,4-dinitrobenzohydrazine were tested by the surface-sensitive techniques, ESCA/AES/SAM and ATR. The results show that charge transfer process occurs during adsorption. It turns out that the more the number of nitro-groups attached to the benzene ring, the greater the stability of the charge transfer complexes formed, resulting in a signifi cant role played by chemisorption mechanism. Therefore^ it makes regeneration of activated carbon more difficult. As a consequence of our experimental and theoretical analysis a simple model for adsorption of polynitroaromatic compounds on activated carbon was proposed.

A newly discoved nitramine 1,3,3,5,5,7,7-hexanitro-1,5-diazocydic octane(here after HCO), showing a property similar to HMX,is discussed in this investigation. The oxygen content of HCO is higher than HMX, and no crystalloblastesis has been found while being heated up to its melting point at 250°C The theoretical specific impulse for HCO monopropellant is 269.28 s.,4 s.,higher than HMX. Smokeless propellants with HCO all show to giv.e higher specific impulse (theoretical) than those with HMX. Many new features are shown besides the relatively higher theoretical specific impulse. HCO propellants show much lower pressure exponent (a decrease of 0. 109 without catalyst, or of 0. 148 with the addition of catalyst, HMX propellants show a decrease of 0. 129 with catalyst). It is certain that a even lower pressure exponent can be expected when suitable catalysts are being used. As a new type of smokeless propellant therefore, it is worthy of further investigation.

Tnis paper presents an analytical method which analyses displacements and stresses in thick cylinders subjected to internal impulsive pressure. In order to examine the derived theory, displacements and stresses of the cylinder, whose ratio of the radii is R2/R1= 2 , are computed with method presented in this paper. The results show that the theory is valid.
