Abstract:

Time-of-flight mass spectrometer has been used to study the effects of lead salicylate as a catalyst on the thermal decomposition of HMX at the temperature range 150℃ to 300℃. Its effects on the dissociated gaseous products and decomposition rate of HMX were determined and the kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition culculated. Catalytic activity of lead salicylate was studied and the mechanism of catalytic action of lead salicylate discussed in the paper.
