Abstract:

Utilizing the trinitromethylation reaction, nonanitromesitylene is synthesized from s-benzene-tricarboxaldehydoxime via hexanitromesity lene and its trispotassium salts, using nitrogen tetraoxide as the nitration reagent. The products related to the synthesis of nonanitromesitylene are described in this paper, namele, 3, 5-bis(trinitromethyl)benzaldehyde, 5-trini- tromethyl_l，3-phthalaldehyde, 3，5-bis(dinitromethyl)benzaldehyde and its bispotassium salt, 5-din it romethyl 1，3-phthalaldehyde and its potassium salt, m-trinitromethyl benzaldehyde, m-dinitromethyl benzaldehyde and its potassium salt.
